Happy Holidays Max

Greetings, Happy Holidays, Happy late Thanksgiving, and Merry Christmas from Iowa in our first blizzard. I sure hope the neighbors across the street are doing ok because we cannot see their house at the moment. I did however decide to capture a photo of Max in his first blizzard to share with you. Here it is below:

* disclaimer: no children were harmed or endangered in the creation of this photo

All in all, Max is doing great. Well... most of the time he his. As long as his Mommy is taking care of him and loving him and keeping him out of danger and all that mumbo jumbo. Or there are times like this:

Poor Max found himself in utter despair, with his life on the line, and his Mommy just left him to run and get the camera instead of rescuing him. To her defense, this leave your child in despair to run and get the camera trait was inherited from her mother, AND I may have over dramatised the actual course of events.

Moving on, Last week we went to the doctor for his 6 month check up. Yes, 6 months old already. My it goes by quickly. So quickly, we got behind on posting Max's weekly photo's. Due to the chaos of Thanksgiving we unfortunately forgot to take Max's 25 week photo, so we had to recreate it.

As for the doctor appointment, Max checked out great and got 3 shots, 1 in the left leg and 2 in the right. He is extremely tough like his father as he only cried for about 1 minute and then we never again would have known he got any shots. Max weighed in at a little over 17 pounds and and measured about 27 inches. I think the pounds are coming along a little quicker now that he is eating real food. You read it correctly, Max now eats real food. If you can call pureed squash or minced broccoli real food that is.

Thanksgiving was great. We had Becky's family visiting from Illinois and also had Gigi, Uncle Bubba, and Uncle Drew here to share dinner. Becky did an amazing job planning and putting the meal together with some assistance from others, but high fives go to her for a great meal and wonderful Turkey Day. Off topic, Max now gives high fives on demand. Anyways, the meal and the day were so wonderful, we couldn't help but nap off the food we just ate.

Naps all around for Uncles Bubba, Drew, and Me(and a few others not pictured)

Now that Thanksgiving is over, it's on to Christmas. Nana started off Max's first Christmas season(outside of the womb) with his first ornament. And a very fitting and appropriate ornament it is. Great job Nana!

It's hard to believe it is Christmas time already. Time for all the fun decorating, making cookies, and all the other joys that come with it. Max was in such a festive mood he even decided to help his Mommy with the lights for the Christmas Tree.

Well, that's about a wrap. Wishing you and your family well this Christmas Season! Don't forget Jesus is the reason for the season! We are very thankful for the Ultimate gift God has given us. We pray you may experience the gift of Christ this year and forever. (I feel like there should be an Amen after that last sentence. I'll leave it up to you.)
