The time finally arrived. Saturday morning at about 10:00am, we were outta there. Finally free of that 11 day/10 night holiday in the NICU. Its amazing how long those last couple hours were as we anxiously awaited the final word. A week and a half of drama, scares, prayers, little sleep, great nurses, wonderful support from friends and family, and much more was now in the books.
We left the hospital, hit the McDonald's drive through and headed for home. Max was home already and he was excited to finally meet his baby brother who he calls Baby Cole or Baby Peanut. The first thing Max said when he saw him was "awwwee... I hold him". So far Max seems to be adjusting well to having a baby brother around, and Max is very gentle towards Cole.

Its kinda strange to think Cole was 11 days old before we were all together. But were have been blessed through this whole time and experience. It is amazing and very humbling how the Lord shows His grace using certain situations to shed light on an entirely new one. If Cole had never been sick and gone to the NICU, we would have probably never found out about his heart condition until something potential fatal had happened. For this we will be forever grateful. What a joy and honor it is to be the Dad of these 2 amazing little ErdMENn!!!
